The city of Phrygia is one of the High Cities of Alera, namesake for the house of Phrygius, one of the two shieldwall cities of Alera.
The city is located in the extreme North-East of Alera, bordered by the Sea of Ice on the East and the Shieldwall on the North. Along with Antillus on the far west, the Legions and Citizenry of Phrygia maintain and man the Shieldwall, the massive bastion between the Aleran people and the Icemen Tribes of the North.
The Legions protecting the city and manning the Shieldwall are almost unceasingly occupied with the constant assaults of the Icemen
The House of Phrygius[]
Both Antillus and Phrygia are staunch supporters of the House of Gaius.
As the seat of the House of Phrygius, the city and surrounding territories bear the colors of the House of their High Lord. The colors of the House of Phrygius can be deduced to be Glacial Green and White from: "the similarly veteran Legions of High Lord Phrygius, its standards sheathed in glacial green-and-white fire," First Lord's Fury, the siege of Riva; as well "Phrygius Cyricus, seneschal of Phrygia and commander of its defending legions, was sixteen years old. He was an almost painfully thin young man, dressed in the white-and-green livery of the House of Phrygius," First Lord's Fury, Tavi's arrival at Phrygia.
Legions[]
The Legions protecting the city and manning the Shieldwall are the First, Second and Third Phrygian. These legions are almost unceasingly occupied with the constant assaults of the Icemen. The Shield Wall Legions therefore see a comparatively large amount of action, & as such, their legionares are viewed as some of the most veteran in Alera.
