The city of Aquitaine is one of the High Cities of Alera, namesake for the house of Aquitaine and at the start of the series, ruled by High Lord Aquitainus Attis and High Lady Aquitainus Invidia.
The city is located in the Eastern coast of Alera, south of Riva and east of Alera Imperia. The infamous Feverthorn jungle, once home to the Children of the Sun, separates its from its neighbour and often competitor Rhodes, to the south. The furylamps of the city are such that they make the city seem to be one large flame. Its colours are Scarlet and Sable.
The Legions protecting the city and surrounding region are the First, Second and Third Aquitainian.
